Catherine Bevan
Catherine Bevan is an emerging composer and multimedia artist based in Edmonton, Canada. With an interdisciplinary research background in Digital Humanities spanning queer experience in the Post-Internet age, Virtual Reality, video games, glitch, spatial audio, self-disclosure, and data privacy, Catherine’s musical practice encompasses a wide range of mediums and styles. She is especially interested in the ways in which queer identity informs artistic output, creating works which emphasize self-reflection, self-determination, and performer agency. Her work has been performed by the likes of the Land’s End Ensemble, the Impact Ensemble, the Winds of the Scarborough Philharmonic, the Edmonton Saxophone Quartet, and has been commissioned as part of New Music Edmonton’s ‘Now Hear This’ Festival. She begins her Doctoral studies in Composition at the University of Alberta in 2026.
